Correction and Retraction

The Journal of Electrical Vocational Education (JEVE) is committed to maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of the scholarly record. Any changes to published articles will only be made under the circumstances outlined below and in accordance with best practices in academic publishing.

Erratum (Correction by Authors)

An Erratum is issued when authors identify errors or omissions in their published article that do not invalidate the overall findings. The erratum will:

  • Clearly describe the correction(s) made
  • Indicate any impact on the conclusions of the article
  • Be published as a separate document linked to the original article

The original article will remain available online, and the erratum will be freely accessible to all readers.

Retraction

A Retraction is issued when an article is deemed unreliable or unethical and should not be considered part of the scientific record. Retractions may occur under the following conditions:

  • Evidence of research misconduct or serious error
  • Redundant or duplicate publication without proper acknowledgment
  • Plagiarism or unethical research practices
  • Invalid or unreliable findings

To preserve the integrity of the academic record:

  • The original article will remain accessible but will be clearly marked as retracted
  • A retraction notice will be published and linked to the article
  • The reason for retraction and the party responsible (authors, editors, or publisher) will be clearly stated
  • If not all authors agree to the retraction, this will be explicitly indicated

In exceptional cases involving legal or ethical violations, the publisher may remove or redact the article. However, bibliographic information will be retained.

Publisher’s Note

A Publisher’s Note is issued by the publisher to correct errors introduced during the publication process, such as:

  • Typographical or formatting errors
  • Errors in metadata (title, author names, affiliations)
  • Issues affecting readability or interpretation

In such cases:

  • The corrected version of the article may replace the original version
  • The date of correction will be clearly indicated
  • The notice will be freely accessible and linked to the article

Minor errors that do not affect the scientific content or readability may be corrected without issuing a formal notice, at the discretion of the publisher.

Correction Timeline Policy

  • Articles may be corrected and replaced within one year of publication
  • After one year, corrections will be documented through a Publisher’s Note only
  • All corrections will include clear documentation and transparency

Ethical Standards

JEVE follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in handling corrections and retractions. All decisions are made to ensure transparency, accountability, and the integrity of the scholarly record.
