Screening for Plagiarism

Manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Electrical Vocational Education (JEVE) will be screened using plagiarism detection tools such as Turnitin or equivalent similarity-checking systems. JEVE applies a strict policy against plagiarism and self-plagiarism.

Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 25% (excluding references and properly quoted sections) will be rejected immediately. Any indication of plagiarism or unethical reuse of content will result in rejection during the initial screening stage.

JEVE is committed to upholding international standards of academic integrity and encourages all authors to ensure originality in their submissions.

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism occurs when an author uses ideas, data, or words from another source without proper acknowledgment. This includes both intentional and unintentional acts, and both are considered serious violations in academic publishing.

Citation Requirements

  • Use of specific information
Any use of specific data such as names, dates, statistics, or factual details derived from a source must be properly cited. Exceptions apply only to widely recognized general knowledge.
  • Use of ideas
When adopting or adapting ideas, interpretations, or methodologies from other works, authors must provide proper citations, even if the ideas are further developed.
  • Use of exact wording
Direct quotations must include both citation and quotation marks. If four or more consecutive words are identical to a source, quotation marks are required in addition to proper referencing.

Editorial Policy

JEVE takes academic integrity very seriously. The editorial team reserves the right to:

  • Reject manuscripts that violate plagiarism policies
  • Withdraw accepted papers if plagiarism is identified at any stage of the publication process
  • Take appropriate actions in accordance with publication ethics guidelines
