Declaration of Generative AI Sources

Authors submitting manuscripts to the Journal of Electrical Vocational Education (JEVE) are required to declare the use of generative AI and AI-assisted technologies in the writing process.

This policy applies specifically to the writing and preparation of manuscripts, and does not restrict the use of AI tools for data analysis or research purposes, provided such use is methodologically justified and transparently reported.

Guidelines for the Use of Generative AI

  • Generative AI and AI-assisted technologies may only be used to improve the clarity, readability, and language quality of the manuscript.
  • The use of such technologies must involve human oversight and control. Authors are required to carefully review and edit all outputs, as AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or biased.
  • Authors bear full responsibility and accountability for the content of the manuscript.
  • AI tools must not be listed as authors or co-authors, as authorship implies intellectual responsibility that can only be attributed to humans.

Declaration Requirement

If generative AI tools are used, authors must include a declaration at the time of submission. This declaration must:

  • Be placed in a separate section before the references
  • Be included in the final published article

Format of Declaration

Section Title:
Declaration of Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies in the Writing Process

Statement Example:
During the preparation of this work, the author(s) used [NAME OF TOOL/SERVICE] to [SPECIFIC PURPOSE]. After using this tool/service, the author(s) reviewed and edited the content as necessary and take full responsibility for the content of the published article.

Exemptions

This declaration is not required for the use of basic tools such as:

  • Grammar and spelling checkers
  • Reference management tools

If no generative AI tools were used, authors do not need to include a declaration.

Policy for Reviewers and Editors

To ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the peer review process:

  • JEVE does not permit reviewers or editors to use generative AI or AI-assisted technologies (such as ChatGPT or similar tools) in evaluating manuscripts.
  • This policy is implemented to protect authors’ intellectual property and maintain the integrity of the review process.
  • JEVE may update this policy in the future as compliant and secure AI tools become available.

Statement

JEVE supports the responsible and transparent use of emerging technologies while maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and ethical publishing.
